Real Belle Vogue bride Brittany planned a stunning Kansas City wedding that took our breath away! From her elegant ballroom venue to the sophisticated hints of metallic, Brittany and Brett’s big day was full of love and style. It all started with her custom Martina Liana gown that she created with inspiration from a few different gowns in Belle Vogue:

The Dress

“I knew I wanted something clean and very “bridal”. I definitely wanted some drama, but not for the entire night. I chose a few Martina Liana gowns that I loved in the store, and created one custom dress from those gowns. I wanted something fitted, so for the drama, I chose to make one of the Martina Liana ballgowns into a detachable skirt that I could remove after the ceremony. It was hard to envision, but I trusted the process. When the gown came in, it was exactly what I wanted.”

Wedding Day

After finding the perfect gown, Brittany was ready to experience the best day of her life. Brittany’s big day unfolded at a variety of Kansas City’s most notorious landmarks. She and her bridal party took photos at Liberty Memorial, Mr. and Mrs. Childers exchanged  “I do’s” at Union Station and danced the night away in The Grand Hall.

“Spending the entire day with the people I love most was extremely special to me. So many people told me to just “enjoy the day” and take it in and I definitely made sure to do that. From getting ready with my best friends to seeing my future husband in his tuxedo, to party bus pictures, I really soaked in the moments. I’ll never forget the feeling of walking down the aisle with my dad while Brett was waiting at the front- I had to choke back the tears. It’s the feeling of commitment to your person which is something that’s hard to put into words.”

“We really wanted the “classic ballroom” type of theme for our wedding. We chose ivory and navy with hints of silver and gold throughout but really focused on lighting throughout the venue. Both of us are very neutral when it comes to style, so this was perfect for us. We chose Mexican food because it’s our favorite type of meal, and who doesn’t love chips and queso? Our nacho bar during the cocktail hour was a huge hit- and our signature cocktail was a fresh margarita. Everyone seemed to have a great time and that was exactly what we had hoped to accomplish on our big day.”
